How would you do it if you had to turn a junior Enlisted Infantryman into a Company or Field Grade Officer without the privilege of sending him to any formal military schooling? What podcasts, books, or civilian schools would you require or recommend? How would your recommendations differ in a situation where you're merely supplementing formal professional development instead of replacing it?

JKO has several good ethics courses. I'd include those. Also, consider adding The Nicomachean Ethics by Plato to a required reading list.

Thank you! I'm afraid understanding ethics or even behaving ethically in and of itself won't get anyone very far in understanding how to wage war at the tactical or operational levels, though.

SPC Elijah J. Henry, MBA I was only offering one, I think critical, subject. Ethics is a bedrock requirement in a leader of any sort. The schools that exist are already rife with tactical, strategic, and operational courses.

1SG (Join to see) and what schools would you recommend, given that the idea is to develop an Officer from scratch without access to military schools?
