How satisfied are you with the mental healthcare you receive from the VA?

I am very disappointed in VA when it comes to Mental health care. You would think the VA would be the experts in mental health, it took me months to get an appointment with VA mental heath, and once I got an appointment it was not near how I though it would be. The providers do not have any "power". Most time their
hands are tied when it comes to treatments, medications and therapy's. The mental care providers is like talking to a friend for an hour then it is made another appointment in three months to go over the same the items. You may have ten minutes to discuss a new issue (s) before your time is up. The provider is a great listener. I thought VA would be the place to get medications for "PAIN" management (which I think has a lot to do with your mental health)! The VA mental health providers may give you a thirty day supply for Motrin? They will not give you Tramadol, 50 Tablet ER. Tramadol WAS not a "RED" label medication about ten years ago and any of your doctor could provide a prescription , however, now it is a "RED" label medication which now takes an act from Congress to get a Prescription.
