Did you or do you plan to not turn in a specific piece of TA-50?

I've seen it over the years. People don't turn in certain things when it comes time to ETS or retire. Now I realize that everything should be turned in, but if you don't whether it's because you lost it, kept it, it was stolen, etc., you get a Statement of Charges. Items like woobie, assault packs, etc. Are there any specific items you plan to keep or kept when you got/get out? For me, I want to keep my woobie and poncho. PFC (Join to see) SFC Joe S. I Was Issued Both The Leather And Lightweight Nylon Flight Jackets.
When I Was Discharged They Only Had On My Issue Equipment List The Nylon Jacket Not The Leather Jacket,So I Kept My Mouth Shut !! And Still Have The Leather One.
I Wish I Could Have Kept My Helmet ! It Was Decorated Really Nice, My Last Unit Had A Very Good Artist In The Rigger Shop Who Airbrushed A Godzilla Grabbing A Huey.

I kept my rucksack and web gear, I had carried them for too many miles to part with! I did purchase replacement items and turned those in whenI cleared.

We Do Get Sentimental About The Gear We Have To Wear Or Carry.
I Tend To Wear Cargo Pants Most Of The Time, After Wearing BDUs ,ACUs And Corrections Officer Uniforms Every Day For Years , I Have Found They Are The Most Comfortable .

CIF never took anything back from me that they couldn't turn around and re-issue. For 20 years, the Army paid to ship, for example, desert camo ammo pouches around the world just so CIF wouldn't have to do its job. Along the way, mice overwintered in one of my duffle bags of obsolete nonsense. So when I retired, I had to write a check for about $700 for stuff the Army would have auctioned off for $20 if I had been able to turn it in.
OTOH, I had a knucklehead who thought his ballistic plates weren't on his clothing record, so he and a buddy went out and shot them. Expensive dumbassery!

For me, everything that is a N for ETS Transfer will be turned in. Those items that are Y for ETS Transfer will be kept only long enough to sell or donate to the nearest military surplus store. I only plan on (maybe) keeping my dress uniform coat with all the prettiness attached.
