How can I qualify for a VA home loan if I am only receiving military disability pay?

Getting a home loan with only having your military disability may be very difficult for lenders because even at 100% it is sometimes hard to make ends meet at the 40,000 a year mark or whatever the payments come out to. While I'm no lending officer or money management professional, the advice I would give you is talk to a finical planner. I started talking with one a few weeks ago and we are working on a plan to help me not only save for a new car but to do while putting money away for a rainy day. It hasn't been a fun or easy process but it helps. They may have tips on ways you can go about securing your home loan.

I'm not sure why you cannot get a home load based on your income. Now, you may not be able to get a home loan for a home that is out of your range, but I don't understand why you wouldn't qualify for "A" loan based on your income - even if it's just disability. I do imagine that the loan may not be much, but could buy a small starter home or trailer residence - there are very inexpensive properties out there.
