I am 11 bravo. Failed the AFT run and also got put into ABCP. I did not know about this policy of AFT implementation that soldiers can request to voluntarily reclass if they do not meet the combat standards of 350 out of 500. I’m attaching a screenshot of my AFT in October, the policy of voluntary reclass, and my updated line scores below or my line scores in the comments later at least.

Your best bet right now is to train for the next AFT. If your S3/Training section is a good one you should be able to take another one next month or so, and you can definitely get a passable run time by that point. But let's say that's not the case...

Get with a battle buddy (peer, fire team leader, squad leader, etc.) regarding establishing a plan to increase your run time, and make that plan happen. I'd also throw in some agility training because I'm no triathlete, and even I have a better Sprint Drag Carry time than that (by almost thirty seconds). But I digress. The failed event is the 2-mile run. The Army understands, as do I, that shit happens every now and then to everyone at some point. What leaders pay attention to, however, is how you pick yourself back up. If you take visible action to get better: that will be noticed by your leadership, and that can really help justify the case for taking another AFT sooner vs waiting another six months or so.

In my opinion, 11B is one of the best non-wartime options to get fit and live the Army way. Your leadership can keep you off the 'lawn and garden detail' and make sure you have time to PT twice a day. Many other MOS have the same job in garrison as we do in wartime and that takes away from PT opportunities. Infantry does not have a mission like that in garrison.

SFC Jerry Teichmiller - I was doing 3-4 12hour shifts a week as an RN and while in Germany during the height of the two conflicts, maybe more. I maintained my PT but was never a PT stud with that lifestyle.

One of my NCOs got with retention. They said no discussion til ABCP is removed. However I haven’t found anything regarding force reclass with ABCP.

(Join to see) - I would assume your retention NCO would be up on regulations. So I’m guessing since you are on the Body Composition Program it would affect a reclass. The reason I say that is because that program is Army wide and now goes into the territory of not being fit for duty in any MOS. So reclassing doesn’t really solve your issue.
