I think it's more a "kick in the ass" to jump start Congress. I don't think the Pope is trying to interfere, just "push" a little to get Congress to do SOMETHING.

As I understand the Pope's commentary, he is encouraging LEGAL immigration. He is asking the U.S. as the "Land of Plenty," to share its prosperity & opportunity with those who both need and want it. To this, he is campaigning directly to our Congress & Senate to effectively move off-center, drop the campaign rhetoric, and make a charitable decision on immigration: Open the doors.

More like encouraging Congress to actually do something.

For those that don't remember, the House passed an immigration reform bill in 2005, and the Senate passed one in 2006; the bills never got reconciled.

CW4 Guy Butler he wanted to walk across the U.S. Mexico border. That's an act of illegal entry into the U.S.

Lol... The story said " enter the United States by crossing the US-Mexico border".

And if walking across the border is illegal, please explain this:

Nowhere is the story does it say the Pope wants to enter illegally.

CW4 Guy Butler and SSgt Alex Robinson I think he just intended to cross that border not illegally. I did misunderstand it when I read it though so I can get that.

I believe he wanted to highlight as the border of interest by entering from there.
