How many of my fellow veterans still wear their dog tags?

I have been out of the Army for 12 years now and still put my dog tags on every day. I have many reasons for this but the main reason is that they are still the best form of identification that I have. Anyone else out there feel the same way?

still wear em, somehow it went from an object i hated to an object that i adore..

I know how you feel, when I threw up my hands in 1988 I put then in a box and promptly forgot about them. 11 years later I pulled those same dog tags out of the box and was wearing them when I arrived at Fort Jackson where I was supposed to go through BCT again after my vacation.

I got mine 39 years ago and still have them. They are not around my neck anymore but hanging on my key chain. I will never get rid of them and I have been promised by one of my sons that they will again be around my neck when I am laid to rest.
