I think this is awesome....it'll get these vets up and at em.

Many Vets get depressed...they mope around...they feel sorry for themselves...This program could get them up and going...it could get them motivated and achieve something and get excited about themselves and their lives.

Hopefully this funding will be will spent Sgt Kelli Mays and that most of the funding will actually go towards the adaptive sports programs for disabled veterans. Unfortunately the Federal government and VA do not have a stellar record when it comes to efficient use of federal funding - taxpayer dollars.

Well....they better get their act together and do the right thing...by golly. I hope they do use the funds the appropriate way.
These big wigs at the VA should take a pay cut...The civilians is these types of positions only make half as much...then they can take that money and put it towards these programs and other things that VETS need and deserve.

I am not sure as to the number of disabled vets have watched curling, or play the game. In my mind it is the ultimate team game. 4 to a team or rink. If you have a curling club in your are, stop in and sign up to play. If you can get a number of vets to participate, and stick with it, a grant can be pursued to help with the cost. I am a level 2 instructor or I should say I was. loved teaching the game and getting vets involved. Just wanted to put it out there.

Not to "piss in your cornflakes," but a lot of us who used to be active, simply don't know what is available. The VA doesn't advertise what they offer. So unless someone posts not only what is available, but also how to access it, how are we to know and get involved?
