Should a service member be allowed to attend an NCOES school (WLC) after failing to pass a Bn schools APFT?

No, a failed record APFT = a flag and makes them ineligible to attend the school, do the Soldier a favor and ensure they are prepared to be successful. Nobody wants to fail, anything, helping them get to where they ought to be will help them as an individual and the unit as a whole in the long run!

Roger CSM I was told by a senior nco that it was a diagnostic apft so the soldier will be attending wlc. I disagree but it was out of my control.

In my unit the CDR has a APFT policy that 30 days out from school they will take a APFT. If they fail they don't go.

I wouldn't send the Soldier and I wouldn't think twice about it. As a steward of the Army's money and professionals, I would not send a Soldier there to fail. I am obligated to ensure they are ready to attend, including physically.

It is a good way to end someone's career if they do poorly or fail the APFT at school the 1059 is a permanent record. I've seen CDR's and CSM's promote it just for that reason alone.
