A Brigade Commander has ordered that all combat patches and badges be removed to "raise morale"

I don't understand the motivation of the commander in forming this decision, maybe you can shed some light on the reasoning behind this.

Any thoughts on this? I think making everyone remove their patches and/or badges is an awful idea. Simply because it will not create "unity" and will lower morale of those who have it.

Is there an added value in this?
