I'm 6'1", Allen Iverson is 6'0" I always thought he was 6'1" oh well .. As a teenager and learning to reach a basketball rim without climbing the net I remember working on the fast twitch muscles on the calves just by standing up and down. Unlike endurance muscle I guess that they tire quicker and work better meant for burst. Also, was picturing yourself doing it,(yes, as in closing eyes and thinking about it). with the basketball rim I wouldn't reach it or sometimes went higher than expected (i wasn't dunking but still). Any exercise for burst maybe something like how the CrossFit people jump on boxes may help?

True. Fast twitch, IIA and IIB, are meant for more anaerobic activity. The box jumps you're referring to are a type of pyometric exercises. They have their place in explosive training.

Discuss what results he wants then tell him what it entails to get those results... What was that movie oh Lost Boys when Kiefer Southerland ask the other actor "how far are you willing to go Micheal,"
