“The day of the attack, you delivered a statement. You didn’t even have the decency to stand up,” the Marine veteran, who claims to be from Chattanooga area says before listing attacks the President railed against.

As reported by WJ:

The Marine then ticked off a list of shootings or deaths that Obama did stand up for while he spoke to the nation, including the Charleston shooting, the Boston bombings, the Baltimore riots, Michael Brown’s death, and the Washington Naval Yard shooting. He even stood up when singer Whitney Houston passed.

The Marine vet doesn’t back off until he’s lodged a number of grievances with the way the Obama administration has handled national tragedies and terrorist attacks on his watch.

This is a very borderline unprofessional topic. If an individual user posted it I would give my usual article 88-bait warning. Is there value in discussing it? Sure, but it risks people straying into the unprofessional and even the criminal (art 88 UCMJ) very quickly. The fact that RallyPoint Shared Content is the one posting it flirts with real challenges if someone were to act foolish and get punished for it.

MSgt (Join to see), retired members are still subject to parts of the UCMJ, article 134 is often invoked to roll 88 in for enlisted members. See some of the above comments. More importantly, my comments were more a warning for members here on RP and a suggestion to the RallyPoint Team that they run a risk of being seen as inciting violations of the UCMJ for having their RallyPoint Shared Content account post this on their site.

CPT Durish, you were down voted for not being able to distinguish between the President and Gov Christie, among other obvious inaccuracies.

What would happen if someone received an article 88 for this post and it was made known on here?
Would Yall rise up and defend the person receiving the article 88? Or just blow it off and say he/she got what they deserved? I believe the marine made a lot of salient points in his discussion, yeah, I am tired of losing 1/2 my paycheck to have my wife on my shitastic insurance plan. A lot of what this young man said really makes a lot of sense and obama needs to step up to the plate.
A lot of what I think of politicians makes me glad I am a vet, because it would get me in trouble if I was active duty.
The nicest thing I could say for ALL politicians would be cement loafers and the marianas trench.

I guess I don’t understand, what do people want? If the president had made a big deal about this everybody would accuse him of playing politics, as this attack was an extension of the war on terrorism, and these five Marines were casualties of that war. People were upset that the flags were taken to half-mast, although they had not been taken to half-mast for the other 6000 service members lost in this war, the administration folded and lowered the flags to half-mast, and now people are running around screaming that he was not standing when he spoke about it.

While I feel that we never pay enough attention to casualties of war, I’m also exhausted by people utilizing other people’s tragedies as there exclamation point, and having no real substance to their complaints. All of the complaints about the actions taken after the Chattanooga attack have been about visual displays of honor or respect. On this site you’ll notice there hasn’t been really any discussion on ways to prevent this from happening again aside from arming recruiters which changes the outcome but it doesn’t change the initial situation. Instead the first reaction to our nation being attacked on its own soil is not a consideration of whether were entering another phase of the war, if we become to polarize within our community that people are isolated so they can be affected by terrorist propaganda, or if there’s anything we can do it all, no our initial reactions been to attack the president, who at this time is the only American politician who is done anything to fight ISIS (remember neither house of Congress has taken up anything on ISIS; so whether you like how he is gone about it or not, he has done far more than your favorite politician). (When I say there’s been no discussion, I mean that there is been no discussion that has been elevated to a trending status at least).

McCain urges more U.S. forces in Iraq
By PATRICK TEMPLE-WEST 5/24/15 11:47 AM EDT
The surprise victory of Islamic extremists in the Iraqi city of Ramadi highlights the need for the U.S. to send combat troops into the war-torn country, Sen. John McCain said Sunday.

You guys think President Obama doesn't care about the troops? He does, and the proof is that he has repeatedly resisted calls to send US troops back into Iraq -- where even a casual review of the history shows they only make themselves targets.

I'm shocked the staff would post this topic. Pander much? If you're going to play the politics game officially, make a statement about it so I can remove my profile entirely from the site and advise Sailors to steer clear of it.

WTG Marine. But, take caution. No need to get yourself in hot water with your command for an Article 88 violation. I know it's frustrating, but there are millions of us that can receive no such punishment that have your backs.

We have the POTUS on blast constantly for his embarrassing and detestable treatment of our brothers and sisters in uniform.

I am from Chattanooga also. I was born in Memorial hospital. As a teenager I attended explorer scout meetings sponsored by the I&I staff at Mike Battery, 3/14 at the old Marine Corps Reserve center on Meadow Street, which is now gone.

President Obama is the best president in fifty years. He will remembered as one of the top five or ten presidents. If it were up to people like Lindsey Graham and John McCain, we'd have combat units in contact with ISIS units in Iraq right now.

How did we do the last time we engaged insurgents in Iraq?

President Obama has shown great courage to avoid taking the way urged by people who don't think very clearly. -That- is how he honors our Military. By keeping them alive.

I seldom call people names. To think that President Obama should have acted differently in this attack on the Reserve Center in Chattanooga just shows you hate him and want to attack him, whether it is justified or not.

I didn't call you names. I said your comment was stupid, which it was.

"Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime: the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity."

I agree. The country as a whole is more concerned with that dentist shooting a lion than being attacked in our own backyard. where in the hell is Harry Truman?? Don't tread down his office, but as a person well, whale crap is at the bottom of the ocean. Home land Security SUCKS. Another fat cat outfit. These attacks should NOT be going on in our country. We packed up the Japanese, we can pack up these guys.
