A man dressed in full Knights Templar gear with bow and arrows will be posted in front of recruiting offices in my town. This is definitely not what I pictured when I heard about people guarding recruiters. What do you think?

This is about one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. He is more out for attention than for anything else. How do you take a guy like that serious. He is not actually trying to protect them. He even states it himself. He wants to bring attention to the situation. I think we already know that this situation needs to be addressed. I just don't see how he is offering anything of any value to the situation. I have a feeling he is into LARPing.

Sgt Richard Buckner - Although his bow and arrow would piece shot body army I just hope he is like Hawk Eye with that thing.

PVT (Join to see) - Nope. If that was at a recruiting station I was at I would tell him to leave. He isn't really offering anything but a better target. If someone wanted to make a name for themselves you would do that if you shoot a guy in front a recruiting off. That is why you don't bring a bow & arrow to a gun fight.

This is out of control honestly. While I appreciate the fact that people feel the need to do something, WE should not BE in this situation. It infuriates me to no end. This needed to be something that although it was greatly saddening, we needed to simply suit up and carry on as if nothing happened. I am not saying not giving the respect that is due our brothers, but I AM saying that we cannot keep this silliness going. We as recruiters are Soldiers, in my station the majority of us are all combat veterans, combat arms, combat veterans. The remainder of them honestly I wouldn't mess with either. These people "pulling guard" for the protectors of America are bringing more attention to us and our stations than if we had simply not locked our doors, pulled our blinds and hid. NOTHING could have stopped the events in Chattanooga, people want to say that these guys being armed would have, but the fact remains that this wacko fired from OUTSIDE, IN HIS CAR. NOTHING could have been done. We need to get past this mass hysteria, get out there and RECRUIT people. No more hiding, no more trying to act like we are not what we are. Recruiters with proud pasts. I carry no shame in what I have done in all of my deployments. I carry no remorse and when my time comes, I can say to God that I did what I had to do to bring me and my guys home.
We need to be proud, send all these guys home, get our heads straight, go recruit and carry on with the mission.
