A question to all MOS 35P. Should the Army stop promoting base on language identifiers alone ?

Should the Army stop promoting base on language identifiers ?
does it make any sense that a 35P that been in the Army for 3 years (2 of them in training) be promoted to E5? based on his/her language?
Why is the DA make the promotion based on language identifier ? and not any thing else?
Are those soldiers ready to be NCOs?

No the Army should not stop promoting based in language, the reason being is because you or me have a skill set that the Army/DOD needs and for that you get promoted. Let me clarify:
1. If you're asking the Army to train you because you are wanting a skill, then you would go to basic training and AIT then to your duty station.
2. If you have a skill set the Army does not have to pay you for then the rules change.
Example: I can hire a Registered Nurse, Physician, Clinical Psychologist, etc and bring them into the Army Medical Department from a 2LT-COL, all without basic training and guess what else, they can have children as a single parent, and I can offer them from $10,000-$400,000 if they qualify and all because they have a skillset that the Army needs.
3. Guess what else. If you had a language that the Army really needs and your can speak, write and understand that certain language then you can be in the same boat, its called the MAVNI PROGRAM (Google it)
4. If you need more information then look me up on global and I can provide a ppt for you to review....now you have knowledge!

SFC . Thanks for the detailed answer. I'm a linguist and joined the Army on the program you have manchend. The problam is that some linguist should be just that...some changes need to be made. Due to the long training (upto 2 years)

SFC , I am about to reclass into 35P with 3 more languages (Turkish,Azerbaijani,Spanish) on my ERB so I would like to know if I will be attending DLI for another language or will go to AIT right after reclassing, Thank you
