There is no good way ahead, only choices between bad and very bad. We were/are too arrogant to pay attention to what Afghanistan did to the former USSR.

Good questions sir not sure about any of these don't have all the information it's a tall order regardless. I would say maybe the most middle way would be more SF and advisers maybe the most middle way route.
