You have to be brave to answer this one. I will present a few options: Work, PT, eating, Surfing the internet, dipping, smoking, extreme sports, drinking, cards or gambling, drinking coffee, running, and of course messing with the LT.

I came in right when the internet was taking off...1990, so I blame the military....and RP. I did a stint with dipping, but only leaf, couldn't do the worm dirt. You can be infantry and not dip, right? And of course, coffee. I do like a fine beer, I prefer German beers, but who gets picky when it is free?

Add your addictions as you see fit...carry on, the LT has left the building, not lets rat**ck his gear...

I have grown addicted to a couple of things. First and foremost I have grow addicted to Excellence. I constantly chase it in all I do and thrus it result in many sleepless nights writing an Order or packing over and over again to maximize the space I have to use.

Besides that I am a gym rat now.

CPT (Join to see) Game On..That Army is really big Sir...I would choose your battles wisely, or at least until you graduate from the War College. NCOs are breed to mess with LTs, actually, I may have learned that in the womb. With that rack Sir, you will probably skip CPT and go right to MAJ, so no worries...you won't be messed with for long.

SSG(P) (Join to see) My favorite thing to say to an NCO is to ask when they joined the Army. Then I politely inform them that I was an NCO in Iraq before they were in the Army. I don't think that will work on you but since I was an NCO I know must of the lines that an NCO would say. I would just say I hope that NCO knows what he is getting into if he is coming to me to pick a fight thinking I am a cherry. I am sure there will be a few more that will pay the price.

SSG Derek H Yep, anyone with a mullet is a hippy to me as well. I keep my hair cropped short, actually I cut my hair every Sunday night, whether I need it or not.

Coffee, if you're on time, you're late, standing at attention when talking with my superiors at work, calling my superiors sir, I chew people out for mistreating my flag, calling any US flag "my flag". The list goes on. Hell I still start off on my left foot whenever I walk somewhere and if I'm walking with someone I fall into step with them.

I have the most deplorable addiction to Japanese food ever since I was stationed at Misawa AB.

Caffeine is my downfall, and it's getting so I can't drink caffeinated beverages any more. Maybe that's not such a bad thing!

I certainly have heard many of folks develop an aversion to caffeine....NO, it is a good thing to give up.

Caffeine is the necessary evil of the military. Note the caffeinated mints in some MREs, caffeinated gum in First Strike rations, and the plethora of sleep-deprivation on who? You guessed it! The military!

Originally any coffee, but after Germany now I only want good coffee. Cleanliness, and timeliness are also huge with me. It drives household 6 crazy sometimes, but I just hate being late for anything.
I also was addicted to Monster energy drinks till I started testing them at work. Now I avoid them unless I don't have another option.

SSG (Join to see) I'd love for you to share your findings about energy drinks if you can. I'm always recommending patients to avoid energy drinks because in excessive amounts, it can cause arrhythmias...heart palpation, and when coupled with exercise can cause heart attacks in otherwise healthy individuals.

Ok I'm a 68K medical laboratory sergeant. I have seen where energy drinks are the primary cause for rhabdomyolysis. Also when you test most any energy drink (and I tested a lot of them) with a standard urine test strip the blood pad reacts positive. There are only two things that can do this 1. Hemoglobin 2. Bleach. Neither of which I want to be consuming in a drink, let alone an energy drink.

I guess I have a cleanliness addiction, SSG(P) (Join to see). Part of that came from my upbringing, but a large(r) part of it came from being in the military and being inspected.

You might not know I'm a neat freak by looking at the mess that is my "man cave," but I really am!

We are all OCD about something or other that has become our pet peeve since we have been a part of our respective service.
I believe one of mine started as a Cadet, although not the most orginized person, all of my clothes whether work or civilian have to be arranged in exactly the same way, by type and color.
The other is timeliness, which was started by my father. He told me and my brother often growing up "If you are early, you are on time...If you are on time your late...If you are late, you better have a damn good reason."
Other than that, I dipped for the better part of 10 years, quit when my wife was pregnant with our daughter.
