Are IMA units good to do ADOS tours as reservists?

MAJ (Join to see), it depends on what your career goals are. If you are finishing up PME (ILE?) it may be easier to take a knee to pound it out in an IMA unit. I know a lot of BDE and MACOM CDRs are pushing for Majors to have ILE complete before taking an XO job. The only downside is how the Senior Officers "see" your break from a functional assignment when looking at you for LTC. Hopefully there are a few floating around on RP who can give you that perspective, but you might need to provide a bit more information like:
Where are you in PME now?
Have you completed your KD assignment?
When is your first look for LTC?
What is the ADOS position you are looking at?

You can get promoted in an IMA unit, I just haven't seen a MAJ go to LTC in one.
