I’m graduating 14G school in about a month and already recieved my projection to go to Ft. Riley. Now that I know that information, what are the next steps for moving there for my wife and I?

verify orders by calling your next Duty station information center in Fort Riley Kansas, Then stablish housing by going on line and looking for apartments nearby. if not able to get housing on post.

1. See if they are going to cut you orders for dependent travel. 2. Contact Ft Riley/new unit about getting a sponsor and see about housing.

Currently there is a long waiting list for on post housing. If you desire to reside on post, call the housing office as quickly as possible to secure your position on the waiting list. I had to wait for approximately 21 days before I was offered a house, but the wait was worth it.

I was a prior service Reclass. You can go back and get your family if you have enough time to your report date in Riley.
What I did was move out to my next duty station, establish housing, then fly back to get my family.

Okay. Would it be possible to get started on getting housing established while I’m still here in training?

You have to log into move.mil to start the process and then talk to a transportation counselor
