I saw a soldier one day at the range wearing a different style of OCP pants than what we usually get issued. I was gonna go ahead and try and correct him but before I did I went ahead and started to look to even if there was anything in AR670-1 that said anything about having different kinds of OCP pattern Bottoms. Does it say anywhere in ANY regulation that you can or cannot wear any other style of OCP Bottoms such as ones with more pockets or other almost the same style.

The uniform is determined by the commander. If the commander allows alternate uniforms, then OK. If not, and they usually do not, then the Soldier cannot. Very simple.

I would say in the field and at the range it’s okay. I have been wearing cyres and Patagonias for the last 4 years tops and bottoms in the field or at the range has never been an issue. Just not allowed in garrison without approval
