I've been in just shy of 6 years and have been a SSG for a little over a year. I've wanted to put in a packet since I was a PFC but I also wanted to experience what it was like to be an NCO. I appreciate any advice that anybody can give me and if somebody would also be willing to review my packet that would be awesome.

Yes, the only person that is stopping you, is you. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it, unless the board says no of course. Send your packet to me and I can help by reviewing it.

Even if the board says no, don't quit. I have know too many guys who had to submit multiple times before being selected but they were eventually successful.

Looks like a good candidate to me. Go for it. Your experience as an NCO will be valuable as an officer. I came over to be an Aviation Warrant Officer after making SSG in 2008. Best decision ever.
