Well, at least you admit that you are too lazy to look up the regs considering the time it took you to post this question you could have found the answer in the regs. Normally, I would have no problems assisting Soldiers with regs and answers......but in this case I'm going to not provide the info and recommend you look up the regs. Not to mention the fact that your NCO told you NOT to do it so now you are trying to circumvent your NCO over an answer you didn't like in an attempt to get an answer you do like.

Sounds like a good way to end up on extra duty too. The irony would be that you usually aren't allowed to chat as you work except as to coordinate the work and for safety.

Extra Duty is punishment for some nefarious act committed by your pals. In this case there should be no "U" in team as in go find somewhere else to be while they perform their punishment.
There is no reg that covers your helping them, but there is a couple that make your NCOs telling you to cease and desist valid. Look at AR 600-20 under NCOs authority and the UCMJ .

You should know the answer without asking the question on RallyPoint. They are on extra duty, and now you want to go around your NCO.
