Am I obligated to continue to show up to drills after my contract expires?

I separated from active duty back in Feb. 2019, and I have remaining IRR time until 2023. Upon completion of SFL-TAP, I signed a contract to do the Army Reserve "Try One" year program. In my contract, Annex A, states that I signed for 1 year and before the completion of my one year I need to submit a packet to transfer to IRR. I submitted said packet in December and I am currently waiting on Battalion S1 to do what they have to do with it. My question is, if Battalion S1 doesn't do what they have to do with my packet before my 1 year contract is up, am I obligated to continue to show up to drills after that 1 year?

I would recommend you show up until the transfer to IRR is signed and official. Just to be on the safe side. But, you should really address this concern with your Chain.

I dont know enough about the reserves to give you the no shit answer, but every military bone in my body says that until you have paperwork in hand stating that you do not have to show up, you show up. I could be way off base, but this doesn't seem like something i would risk getting in any kind of trouble over. Just dropping off paperwork doesn't seem like the end all be all, dueces, im out, kind of way to do things. Maybe it is, hopefully some smart reservist can chime in on this.

SPC (Join to see) I wholeheartedly concur. Ain't NUTHIN' official 'til it's on paper AND you have paper in hand.
