After seeing this event in Valdosta, GA, I became more convinced than ever that I made the right decision to get out of the US military. Judging by the behavior of Michelle Manhart, it became clear to me that US military indoctrinates people to be ignorant and intolerant to those who have different opinions shared by the US government. The US government's opinion is that Stars and Stripes stand for freedom and democracy, to the Black Lives Matter protesters they stand for racism, and to me our flag stands for neither of the things mentioned above. However, our military teaches its members to perceive anybody who disagrees with US government's opinion as the enemies and encourages veterans to be aggressive with them, which clearly contradicts the First Amendment of Our Constitution. I stand by my earlier comment that what Ms. Manhart did was ignorant, because in two US Supreme Court cases: Johnson v. Texas (1989) and US v. Eichman (1990), it was ruled that desecration of US national flag is right guaranteed to us by the First Amendment. It deeply saddens me that our military trains Americans to be against fellow Americans over disagreements, once again. But this pain of mine has inspired me to write a book, which I hope will change people's hearts and minds: http://www.amazon.com/one-fine-woman-jason-singer/dp/ [login to see] /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid= [login to see] &sr=8-1&keywords=one+fine+woman

Frankly, I don't know where you ever got the idea that "our military teaches its members to perceive anybody who disagrees with US government's opinion as the enemies and encourages veterans to be aggressive with them" ... sounds like a lot of self-justifying BS to me.

Please, follow the toprightnews link I provided, where you can watch a video of Michelle stealing people's property. Yes, that flag, bought at some store, is cconsidered a personal property, by law. Thus, it was an act of aggression on her part. Bottom line, these protesters had a constitutional right to do what they were doing and when she enlisted in the Air Force, she swore to defend the Constitution, so by her overall behavior, she was not even living up to that standard. Having seen and heard a few too many people, myself included, exhibiting similar behavior, influenced by the military culture, my common sense told me that our government's leaders have been doing a very poor job for life by setting very bad examples to follow, and it all needs to be improved.
