There is this course that I took and it says "(CERT)" after it, and it says that I need a re-certification. What do I use this cert for? Is it actually put onto an ERB? Or is it for correspondence hours? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know which course exactly that one is; however the old ammo handlers certification up to 2010 provided training so Soldiers could properly account for and transport ammunition, it taught the different vehicle ammo markings required and how to safely block and brace / segregate ammo based on it's classification.
The old course that most Soldiers attended did not generate any points or appear on your ERB because it was not long enough hour wise.
The course was needed so units could pick up ammo and conduct qualification ranges and training.
