This is a joke, right? I just checked the July 2015 670-1 and didn't see any references to the change.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up; I'll continue to look. Wouldn't want to be the first one walking around my unit next time we wear ASUs. I'm guessing there are going to be some strange looks and conversations until this change becomes more widely disseminated. Now what to do with my two CG service caps...

CW5 (Join to see), I understand how you feel. Shoot, I had to let another Warrant Officer know not to long ago that we don't wear the Eagle Rising insignia anymore on the service cap and he outranked me by 3 years.

No it's not that. As others have mentioned, I just don't like the wording of the new reg. It leaves to much room for interpretation, whereas the previous was much more clear.

Technically another change. The CW3/4/5 ranks were recently changed to Field Grade and Senior Field Grade Warrant Officers along with the updates of our OER forms and with that change, the service cap requirement didn't catch up until 1 July.

So many budgetary, training, and other major issues to focus on..........nahhhhh, lets focus on changes of uniform items and designs.

Hmmm, this gives me an idea!I CW3-CW5 field grade and senior field grade warrant officers it seems obvious that WO1 and CW2 warrant officers must be company grade. Ok (here it comes) to maintain consistency with the other officer ranks it only makes sense to have flag grade warrant officers (CW6–CW10). It strikes me as unfair that the "traditional" commissioned officers have a career path from O1 through O10, but not anyone else. I realize that only aviators will ever make it to flag rank, but every important idea involves trade-offs. Also, in keeping with enlisted rank structure, I think its way past time that we had a grand exalted supreme flag grad warrant at DA and possibly with a seat with the JCS.

As I'm sure you know, traditionally flag officers are allowed to design their uniforms. I'm curious to see what our first transgendered CW6 comes up with.

All of this reminds me of a sign I used to have hanging on the wall behind my desk: "I used to be disgusted, now I'm merely amused."

I want to be recalled to active duty to have a shot at W-10! As to the uniform, khaki shorts in the summer like the Brits and the wool hat like the Russians in the winter. Oh, and a riding crop like general officers used to carry.

I'm not so ambitious. I'd like to be recalled so I could be issued a spiffy Beret noir!

CW5 (Join to see) - I'll pass on the riding crop, but I will adopt the swagger stick. The Corps once considered that part of the uniform for E-6 on up.

CW2 Michael Mullikin - I'll give you mine. I can just spray paint a hubcap from a '48 Dodge and wear that.

No Sir, in 2004 when Warrant Officers went from a corps to a cohort and aligned with the branches of the Army, the Eagle Rising went away from all uniforms and uniform accessories.

So W-3s are now Field Grade Officers. How long before they change their rank insignia to a gold oak leaf with a little black dot in the center?

We are commissioned for legal purposes which gives us UCMJ authority. Warrant Officers and Commissioned officers have different roles and no we should not be integrated to just commissioned.
