Ah, NTC. We got sunburned the first week, sandblasted the second, and snowed the 3rd week.
Just don't let anyone box your vehicle in for the night - if you get hit with CS it doesn't end well. :)

Go to a good outdoor store and find yourself an Esbit pocket stove. Go to Costco or Sam's and buy yourself some individual coffee or tea packs like they have in office setting. It saved my life.

I’m guessing your coming on that hood rotation. I’m OPFOR and the best advice I can tell you is stay alert and stay alive. Pay attention and bring lots of water

Pay attention during the NTC briefing. NTC can be very cold in the winter and it will rain. During one rotation that I was on two or three guys from another unit were sharing a tent in the dust bowl and were burning sterno to stay warm. They didn't have any ventilation and if I remember right, at least one died.

Are you going there as a member of a rotational unit or assigned to Fort Irwin?

For you’re mos NTC maybe helpful but for a support MOS like 12n it’s a waste of time honestly one reason why I’m leaving that MOS because my unit wants to go every year
