Any Air Force folks get a CAC reader up and running on their Windows 8 computer?

I just purchased a Windows 8 computer, I'm fairly certain that it's W8 Basic. The card reader is not automatically recognized and there isn't a "Smart Card Reader" section under Computer>Properties>Devices. I've been to militarycac.com where it is suggested to use ActivClient 7.0.2.x for W8 machines. Has anyone found that ActivClient software somewhere, where I don't have to pay for it?
