I go back to MEPS on the 15th to pick up my orders to JBLM. No clue what unit I'm assigned with until then. I informed the career counselor that I will be taking my wife and daughter with me. Any idea how long they may give me? Additionally, what factors, excluding familial needs and desires, does a unit take into consideration?

I know SFC. You never know if someone new will see it and have additional insight. When I posted this, I was fairly certain you would be the first to respond...lol

SGT(P) (Join to see) lol I'm here on JBLM just PM me if you have any issues when you get here. Which, you will, because you're coming active from the Reserves and people get confused by that.

In case nobody said it, you should receive the normal travel time allowance for PCS. It's one day for every 350 miles. I think the first and last day are only 250.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
