Good to hear from you Rick! Anything specific you are looking for? There are tons of lessons learned posted on the contingency training site.

I wish the IG, specifically ACC IG would get with the program for ORI- or whatever they might be calling them this year- because training up for cold war methods and tactics and wasting the time and resources while the troops in the field are doing different tactics while downrange is , quite frankly, stupid and wasteful.

TSgt Jonathan Watson not sure what exactly you are talking about? Silver Flag does still train for legacy ADR (crushed stone crater repair) but is in the process of developing a modernized capability...it takes time...but even then the legacy repair will still be a required capability. I can assure you, that our DirtBoyz are given state of the art training that is changed on the fly and are prepared for what they will see downrange.

My comments may be dated but I know that I had problems with IG during exercises and inspections because we were training/being inspected on ADR models that differed little from BRATT and RRR between 2003-8. The heavy emphasis on CBRNE.NBC is out of proportion, or was to the other services, even after factoring the fixed installation nature of the AF, imho. More tactical, convoy, counter rocket/mortar/sniper/IED/VBIED tactics and spall repair emphasis would be more applicable. Legacy training is fine, as long as it is in proportion to the currrent threats. I will admit that I've been out of the game since '12 so maybe the changes are happening. Certainly, according to what I'm hearing on FB, you guys are getting better practical training into the AFSC and that is something I commend

I would love to go into details on the modernization program but lets just say you would really like it! We haven't been inspected on RRR/ADR for quite a few years in regards to the old fashioned ORI style of inspection...those days are gone.
