Have you ever found yourself on mail buoy watch?

Ever been handed a kapok life vest and broom and told to fend off any monkeys that try to board during a Suez Canal transit?

How about being sent after the elusive ID10T that the chief needs right away?

I'd like to hear some of the other service gags run on the new guy. Let's hear em please!

Used to send new guys on the ship down to the engine room for a "BT Punch". Most never knew why the "BTs" in the engine room actually punched them.

I was in a Chinook outfit in Vietnam. We'd have the newbees requisition a yard of flight line and a gallon of prop wash. Tech Supply would give them the TM and tell them they needed part numbers. It would get them out of your hair for a couple hours....

LOL - Reminds me when we were in Ft. Hood. They had cattle on the base at that time. We were heading out to the range and saw a Bull out in the pasture. I asked the driver to stop for a tire check and he did. Well we had this kid that was not that brilliant at times and was definitely as city boy. (ID10T) So I asked him if he had ever heard of a 1 uddered cow! Nope never heard of it he said. So we pointed out in the field and showed him the "1 uddered cow". I said have you ever milked a cow before? He said no. I said you wanna try? He said sure. Sooooo, with all of trying not to bust a gut, he started over the fence but we had to tell him to stop because the bull was already running towards him and he didn't even realize it, until afterwards. We just couldn't keep it in any longer. We couldn't let him get killed by a bull. We were laughing so hard it took another 15 minutes just to get moving again. Tooooo funny.
