I've been checking G1 Gateway everyday in order to provide anyone/everyone with questions about how long the promotion/scroll process takes, with an answer. Although this may not and will not be everyone's experience, I wanted to at least provide a timeline/staff routing overview for an otherwise frustrating and obscured process.
This following is a roll up of the scroll process that I've experienced so far. My promotion packet was submitted on 26 Aug 16 (I was eligible for promotion on 15 Sep 16, my 24 month TIG) and the state promotion order was published on 03 Oct 16.
02 Nov 16: Awaiting Packet Acceptance (15 Days)
17 Nov 16: Awaiting Post Screen Review (10 Days)
27 Nov 16: Awaiting Assignment to Scroll (16 Days)
13 Dec 16: Scroll Created (51 Days)
03 Feb 17: Awaiting Dep Chief of Staff Personnel (55 days)
30 Mar 17: Awaiting Off of Judge Advocate General (34 Days)
05 May 17: Awaiting Dir Chief of Staff Personnel approval (19 Days)
24 May 17: Awaiting Off of Sec of Defense approval (21 Days)
14 Jun 17: Orders Published
TOTAL DAYS ON SCROLL = 221 Days

Does anyone have the flow chart, how many steps are left. When I was promoted to CPT there was a flow chart so you knew how many steps were left in the process.

I saw that today! from the flow charts I've looked at, it looks like SECDEF is one of the last steps? Based on other's comments about previous scrolls, ours seems to be moving faster than others....fingers crossed on getting published prior to 15 July....that's when I take my company to JRTC preferably NOT as an LT.

CPT(P) (Join to see) - This response is a little late to your post, but this was the only timeline I found.
Congratulations P05-17!! Updates to total time on scroll are noted in my original post. Looks like we moved through the process quicker than usual. I'm okay with that!

Congratulations, ma'am. I wish L02-17 was as fortunate. We were assigned to a scroll around the same time as your scroll, but we're currently at day 168, and still sitting at the JAG, where we've been for over 100 days (according to the tracker). Almost 30 months TIG as a butter bar.
I'm on the scroll too - but I haven't been able to get on the G1 Gateway for the last couple of days. Anyone else having that issue? Or, anyone know what the scroll's status is?

I just updated the status in my original post. It's now in the SECDEF office for approval.

For those of you who have made it through the FedRec process NGAUS has a survey on their homepage that seeks your input. Below is a quick article on the survey's initial findings:

Survey: Guardsmen Wait Years for Promotions
Washington Report (November 21, 2017) More than 500 National Guard officers have responded to a NGAUS survey regarding wait times for federally recognized promotions, and several say they have waited more than a year. In fact, a few have waited more than 1,000 days to receive the promotion they have earned.

Where can I see the level my packet is at? I check iPerms for my orders, but I don't know what website shows me who has/hasn't signed off on it.

Go to the NGB G1 Portal at https://g1arng.army.pentagon.mil/
Click G1 Data Portal (RCMS)
Click My Soldier Data
Scroll down to the bottom and click FEDREC
This is mostly from memory since I haven't been able to log on to G1 Portal since I got dual persona CACs. Pretty sure you'll be able to find it from there though.

Hello,
My latest description on the Gateway is : awaiting Dir Ch of Staff Pers approval; P03-17; 230 Days in DoD Approval cycle.
Have anyone been this long in the process before getting promoted?

I believe anything over 180 days usually means there was an issue from what I have heard. Basically if someone on your scroll has an issue (such as a CID flag), then the entire scroll will be held up because they have to address it. If it can't be resolved, they can just drop that name from the scroll but it still causes a delay. And, as we have seen, they are already slow when it comes to the FEDREC process, so one hiccup just makes an already slow process insanely long. If I were you sir, I would call Rene Marshall and ask her what's up with your scroll. Her number is [login to see] .
