I've been sitting on this for about 50 days: Awaiting Dir of Mil Pers Mgmt; P06-17; 127 Days in DoD Approval cycle
I dont see that in any of the status' you show. Sine you guys were P05-17, I'm hoping we are around the same 130-140 days?

Our S1 offers reps, our G1's at state and this scrolling process....on top of going through vacancy review...is an incredible injustice to our soldiers. I've been in the promotion process for almost two years. Still a 1LT.

Happy 141st day sitting in the dusty queue with nothing going on, no updates and no hope of it moving either. Awesome. This promotion will be ongoing for TWO YEARS for me in August.

I'm on scroll P03-17. 188 days into the approval cycle... State orders in hand since August. I know I didn't answer your question, but at least you have another scroll to base your timeline. I've been told I'll have FED REC by July.

SFC Chrissy Palmer at NGB. I'm not sure of her number and I'm not near my computer, but she's in global. I talked to her a couple of weeks ago. My state deputy G1 also talked to someone. Apparently, 4 officers are being pulled off of the scroll for various issues in CID or DAIG checks. It was supposed to have already happened.

MAJ (Join to see) - well considering I have a recent TS and haven't broken the damn law, I should still be on the scroll. My G1 hasn't given any update. This is ridiculous though.

This is a problem with the scroll process that needs to be addressed. Everyone is held up because of someone else's background.

I've posted my "for your frame of reference" type comments before for those on 05-017, so here's the latest update: NGB order published on 19 MAY 17. That equalled 191 days on the counter, right at about 11 months from the time my unit submitted the promotion packet to my State's JFHQ.

Thanks for that info. If P05-17 were to take the same amount of time (191 days in the scroll process), our approval date would be 12 August 2017. As we all know, no two scrolls have taken the same amount of time to get through the pipeline, but I think we can all agree that it'll still be a while. Hopefully we'll see another update to the tracker soon.

LTC (Join to see) - Too true. I also think that the transitions between administrations definitely impacted the process. I'm sure more so in some cases than others. I think mine, P02-017, was at JAG so long simply because the DOD had not completed their transition yet when it should have gone to the SECDEF's office. Purely conjecture, but it fits the timeline. According to the NGB FEDREC packet manager, SFC Palmer, once signed by SECDEF, it usually takes two weeks to get it back to NGB and for the orders to publish.

Looks like P05-17 is moving faster than recent scrolls. Today's update shows it at Office of the SECDEF as some others have mentioned, and we are 111 days into the scroll counter. I hope we might see something within the next month. Good news for everyone on P05-17.

Does anybody know what the colors white or yellow mean on the scroll list or number of days? I know what green and red mean. Thanks.

It's just the standard Green, Amber, Red scale to show how something is progressing compared to the "standard" timeline.

1LT (Join to see) - Sybil, all promotions for 1LT and CPT will be back paid. Any promotion from CPT to MAJ and above are not back paid. The official DOR is when the SEC DEF signs off on the order. Because that is the official DOR, any promotions to MAJ and above only get back pay from that date. However, all 1LT and CPT promotions are back paid to the official scroll start date. Lucky you! Furthermore, if you would like to contact someone, this is my POC at NGB... [login to see] . I've only left messages because she hasn't answered my calls. Good luck trying to make contact.

Correction to comment regarding back pay: Promotion to CPT is not back paid. You are only back paid from the official date of rank (i.e. when SECDEF signs off).

Hello,

I spoke to a CW2 Brad Stockham and explained the process of what could be the reason of the delay.

Please see the attached message.

Hope this helps...

Yep....CPT to MAJ. I keep checking the G1 Gateway and it says "Scroll created with packets and List_ID; P05-17; 0 Days in DoD Approval cycle." No change in that status for at least the last 30 days.

Exactly where I'm at too. I check everyday and have been keeping track of how long each stage takes. I've seen other posts that they don't necessarily update G1 Portal regularly. Not getting my hopes up that anything is taking place behind the scenes though. RIDICULOUS.

CPT (Join to see) - to help you out, mine state order went through at the end of June last year. I'm on 03-17 and I'm like 40ish days into the Dod cycle. I'm told it takes around 180 days once your time starts ticking. I guess we'll see.

I'm on 02-017 and went on vacation starting 19 JAN and my day count was up to 71 on the "Dep Ch of Staff Personnel" phase. When I came back it was on 2 FEB, it was up to day 85 but now on to "Awaiting Off of JAG." Currently on day 91, still with the JAG.

I'm not sure where the JAG review falls in the process outlined by my state, but my guess is that the near 180 day average is probably not far off the mark.

Just checked the G1 Portal and it looks like P05-17 status changed to "Awaiting Off of JAG." At least there is movement.

No JAG is not the last step. I'm on day 142-ish and is now at 'awaiting approval office of the sec def' it was on JAG for two months.

Interesting...as noted in the update to my original post, 05-17 is now awaiting Off of Sec of Defense approval. Wonder what's holding your scroll up, although I have seen from other posts that the G1 portal does not always post/provide updates to the scroll information.

I'm on 03-17 too. Apparently, there are 4 officers on the scroll with some issues that were discovered in background checks. This has delayed the scroll's progress (halted is probably the better term).
