Anyone have a rough copy of a letter to the president of the board for not having a DA Photo? It's the reserve e7 board.

Take a day off, go to Devens. They have a pretty good photographer. It's in the system the same day. If it's an online board you'll be fine.
Really no excuse for not having one.

He should be able to get you in. He's an interesting character. If it's still the same guy.

Let me say, that I get you. What I'm going to say falls under pot calling kettle black territory. I have been a SFC for 18 months and have not updated my DA Photo and I need to get on it soon.
You may have a hard sell to the board unless you have a good, no bullshit reason why you have been an E6 for so long without finding some way to get the photo done.
With the electronic boards on the reserve side, the DA Photo is about the only way to assess your military appearance and bearing.
Do the memo, just to let them know you are aware of the deficiency, but I strongly suggest you find a way to get the photo.
Perhaps when you go to AT, or NCOES you can arrange the photo

CSM David Heidke - ASU's are only issued to basic training Soldiers. if he came in when the army greens were issued, he would need to purchase them, it is why you get a clothing allowance.

SSG Robert Perrotto - reservists don't get clothing allowance. Reserve units are allocated funds to gain uniforms through the Central Clothing Distribution Facility in Kentucky. In not sure how the funding is determined, but I imagine it is based on number of soldiers, rank, and anticipated wear and tear. Anyone who switches from active to reserves will lose the allowance as they switch systems.
If someone switches during a time frame when there is a uniform change, the new uniform should have been ordered by the units supply function.
Not sure why , this soldier still does not have ASUs by now.. I can't imagine any reason for lack of ordering other then a soldier failing to go to supply and saying "hey, I need ASUs, can you help place the order".
This is odd. In my experience through 4 reserve units, is that the supply/s4 does almost annual assessment of the unit's clothing needs.

I came in the reserves in 2012 and still don’t have my ASUs!!! The reserves is a different beast.

Do you not have an updated DA Photo or ANY DA Photo? What's the reason for either?
