Anyone have experience going from Officer to Warrant Officer (CID) for the National Guard?

I've only seen it done on active duty. An MP CPT transitioned to CID as a CW2. Made CW3 fairly quickly but I can't speak to the Guard/Reserve side of the house.

-Note: I am a civilian peace officer and I would be considering making this transition down the road, as I prefer working around Soldiers and I do not see much career potential for myself in a staff position.
