Anyone have info for basic and AIT for someone enlisting as PSYOP?

ASVAB score was a 92. With a 126 GT score. And im expecting to do well on the DLAB as i did well on the practice. Just trying to get info on where i will be and for how long before im back to my kids.

Oh okay so 2 weeks at benning for basic, then 20 at ft leonardwood before coming back to bragg for 2 more weeks?

Is the basic length so short because i will be doing MP training at leonardwood?

Your initial training will be 31B OSIT, One station Unit Training. Your basic training and AIT are combined. After training, you will goto Airborne school, followed by the selection at Fort Bragg. Maria De La Vega

SFC (Join to see) omg thank you. Now i understand. So benning is not my basic location, its my jump school location. Got it. My brother in law is 37F and hes explaining it to me as well but my recruiter was saying basic at benning then ait at leonardwood which is what confused me.

I’m surprised that they are going about it this way. But nonetheless, Army does what army wants. Plus, it may have something to do with timing. If they want you to get where you need to in a timely manner. I.E. getting to AIT in time, getting to Bragg/airborne school/selection in time, etc. The idea was that you were to go to Military Police OSUT (one station unit training: basic and AIT combined into one long course) and then come to Bragg to continue with training towards 37F. But that is not the case. So you’re going to basic training at Benning. You’ll then PCS to Leonardwood for MP AIT for however long that is (I don’t know). Upon graduation, you’ll PCS to Bragg and go through all of the follow on train ups in preparation for selection. You will NOT go to airborne school until AFTER you pass selection. Maria De La Vega

And at what point can my family be with me? Do i have to live seperate from them until after airborne? And if so, while im at bragg can i leave base to see my children? We live in Fayetteville, NC now (5 min. From Bragg)

Please friend me on here and we can discuss some of your concerns a little bit more. I can assure you that things will be alright for you once you get to Bragg after graduating from Leonardwood. I am an AIT instructor for the 37F reserve component’s new recruits. However, I am active duty. But I am also considered cadre for the battalion in which you’ll be falling under as a student in or out of training when you get here. So I may have some guidance that you may require.
