I’m in the process of buying a house, bank is trying to verify that I’m in the military, I sent out statements of service but for one reason or another my commander wouldn’t sign, so I had my platoon sgt sign it, will that be accepted by the VA?

Mine had a form letter, they did it pretty much for every one.

Your personnel office can do it for you.

SPC Rodolfo Chavez - Don't know. I know that when I was in that situation, I went to my personnel guys and they typed/signed one for me. Good luck.

Mine was signed by the S1 Platoon Sargent. They didn't even bother with company commanders with it since everyone can get one.

They will want a DD214 if you are out, or an enlistment contract if you are still in the service.
Memos are insufficient on their own.
If your loan officer needs more than that, get some documentation that you are currently in with a cover memorandum from your commander.
It is the loan agency you are trying to please, not VA.
