Hello SGT Kevin Gardner , (and SSG(P) Christopher Erickson ),
4 year app programmer here and co-founder of an app startup. While I am covered in work at the moment if you PM me I'd be happy to share insights of what it means to run a startup app company.
If you feel like sharing your idea(s) I could probably give you a decent range of expected income. Free advice: Stick with Apple. Android apps return 1/6th of what the same app on iTunes makes.
If you have any kind of technical know how I'd advise jumping into app development. I took a 20 day leave after my deployment to Iraq. Bought a mac, downloaded Xcode, by the end of 20 days I figured out how to put a button on the screen. 20 days after that I published my first app. No business required if you are just doing it as an individual for Apple.
SSG(P) Christopher Erickson , Defensive Positions would have been great during ECCC. I made an engineer app some years ago, its excessively outdated and cringe-worthy at present. Need to update that thing.

Looking to put together an app company to build and design apps. I have one in mind, but have no idea where to start. I am asking if anyone here would like to help build and design an app. I have no way to pay for work needing to be done, but my thought is once the app goes live in the app stores we would split the profits of said app. my goal is to build a small team of veterans who would all own a share of apps built.

I'm not very app development centric - but when you do get this off the ground, message me - You've got your PR guy right here.

The App concept I have comes with a broad range for a customer base built in, I did the research and it doesn't exist yet on any system except pc and that's as software. It also has the added income base for additional content.

I took one of my App ideas to one of the big App developers. They didn't want to sign the non-disclosure paper work at first. Once I did get them to sign it I pitched my App. They offered 20,000 and they keep all rights to the app. I refused and came here to ask you guys.

One is an uber like App on,y its industry based, another is a search app for the person on the go and another is a graphics App for a specific industry. I have a few more ideas but need help with marketability. The first three I mentioned there is a market for and have recived a request for the graphics app.

What platform? Keep in mind Apple products require an upload from a mac and proof of testing on iPad/iPhone (registered and linked to your developer account -no emulators). You could rent mac and login through remote desktop for about 25 a month. Personally apple is a nightmare because of that and you can release through Amazon anyway. As for android, windows and windows phone... that can be done with much less hassle, though still plenty of hassle. Developers have fees for distribution licenses for the platforms and bank accounts must be registered. The software also costs [as does the education itself]. I use Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate or 2015 depending on whats going to happen - I don't really fully trust the latest versions of anything. I hope that was helpful. Maybe I am misunderstanding but concepts cost very little compared to developing, I don't see how this would be fair. ? I could help you get a feel for what needs to be done and help get you in the right direction if you like.

I know I seem to be being cryptic with the App development but I have a good reason to, my problem is I have been burnt in the past on projects I attempted to get assistance with, so my goal is to build the team layout the plan for moving forward and and start the process of building something for all of us involved. I won't lie I have no skill in building an app, but I am a visual designer, I have taken the time to do market research, and that has shown much promise for profit. If anyone is interested in getting in on this please e mail me [login to see] this is not a get quick rich with an app idea. It will mean some hard work from all involved and may flop; just being realistic. What I can say is this everyone involved with the project will share in the profits. In fact it may become necessary to have a former jag officer assist us with a contract. I want to keep this project in the family (anyone who has worn a uniform)
