So I was recently researching the direct commissioning process and came across people waiting for scroll. Most of the questions came from reservist and I don't know if the same thing applies to active duty. Can anyone give me any insight on this process?

Scrolling applies to ARNG Soldiers who undergo the Unit Vacancy Promotion (UVP) and initial appointment process. This "scrolling" is the federal recognition process that occurs after a state promotion board; USAR and the AC undergo the DA Board selection process.

Liliana, I was selected around the same time frame. He informed me the process can take up to 180days for a scroll to come back. Hoping that’s not the case... this wait is a killer.

Just ensure that you speak to an in service recruiter or your Brigade or higher are-enlistment NCO, he or she know all the rules, or can find them.

CSM, that is incorrect. Every officer (Active, Reserve, due-Course and nondue-Course) require a scroll approval. For Company Grade Officers, DA (Pentagon) will approve. But all recruiting elements have to submit a Scroll post board before commissioning.

To add to MAJ (Join to see), it’s dependent on the rest of the names that go up with yours. 90 days is a reasonable timeframe.

Mine was 184days, but an O1 scroll doesn’t go through the whole process. So hopefully you have yours by now.

It took 157 days for me. I'm happy that part is over. Now I'm still waiting for the next portion of this process but I'm happier now.
