Just looking for anyone who is with the RES, I'll be there within the month and am looking for any information pertaining to the engineer troops.

Didn't work directly with the engineer troop while I was with 2CR but had plenty of friends who were there SSG (Join to see). I can tell you about 2CR though. Like most places you will have plenty of time to take in the sights of Germany and Europe while on the job. (talking about field time, but that's to be expected). Usually if the training schedule permits it, the regiment does have 1 4 day weekend a month which is a great opportunity to get out and travel around Europe and see it, if you have never been. This time of the year is perfect to arrive as you're right in Oktoberfest season. While going to the major cities and seeing the festivals is an experience, I'd also suggest hitting all the small town festivals as well. Great times to be had. (not just single soldier fun. Lots to do for families) Living in Europe I'd also recommend getting to the many Christmas festivals as well, amazing unique food and drinks to enjoy.

SSG (Join to see) - yea, wish I could be more help SSG, but as I never worked with RSS or the Eng. Troop I don't want to give any false information on how they operate. Plus the regiment and many squadrons were reconstructed following our most recent return from Afghanistan. That said I always try to advocate for peole I meet going there for the first time to get out and see Europe (as a European immigrant to america I guess I just want people to take full advantage of such a unique opportunity)

2LT (Join to see) still there? I'm going to Vilseck next year, they told me in a hurry that I was going to 2CR but I'm not really sure. He mentioned Infantry in the name of the Unit but I haven't find any Infantry Unit there, at least on their site.

2CR has six squadrons, If you're lucky your orders get amended and you end up on grafenwhoer . What is your MOS?
