My first MOS I was a 12K and while I enjoyed the schooling, I didn't get to do any plumbing projects until deployment. Simply because of regulations and standards in the US prohibiting us from doing any plumber work without a civilian journeyman. I cross trained to do a lot of carpentry and masonry state side and that was a really great skill set to have all of those skills combined.

It was a great transition coming over from the vertical Engineer side because those skill sets carry over to 12B, and who doesn't love to blow shit up?! It comes with a much more heightened awareness within the job, but I love working hard and rising to challenges!

Are any Army Reserve plumbers on here? How do you like it? What are drills and annual training like?

If you are still looking for experienced plumbers, then you should definitely contact Trifusion Plumbing & Foundation Repair. Only they could I trust with sewer replacement http://trifusionplumbing.com/ . And I did not disappoint. I really like the result, and everything was done very quickly and efficiently. And it was all inexpensive.

Yes i deployed last year to kuwait did lots of carpentry the day i was supposed to go to Afghanistan i got sent home instead so no complaints there. My unit is awesome though not a lot of mos training on drill weekend but we do pmcs drivers training weapons qual twice a year pt test twice a year we do adventure training where we go out in the woods and use our eqiupment just to get stick time i litteraly dug holes with a bobcat for 2 hours last drill...if i had it to do all over again i would have went reserve 12k from the get go because my civilian employer still payed me while i was gone. I love being a reservist engineer!!!
