I'm considering creating a company work group in Slack to assign tasks and improve information flow within my organization. Does anybody have experience with that or is anyone currently using this app to accomplish this?

By "lack of automation" do you mean just not enough workstations, and your people want to use personal laptops?
Why not just have them use their personal laptops to remote in?

That way you can keep everything on your original unit SharePoint and systems of record instead of having to move it back and forth from a third party vendor?

We don’t have enough work stations and the majority of people have smart phones as opposed to personal laptops. There’s no need with the functionality of a phone to also have a laptop. So if I can transition items from my work desktop or work laptop to an app like Slack, that would enable greater work capacity.

Additionally, I have guys all over the world so Slack would allow ease of access for those detachments to their rear detachments.
