Are Temp Tech positions the same as Perm Tech in the NG?

I ask as I'm hearing different answers from different soldiers. This is in regards to Bonuses as I have the second part of my bonus coming in 2021 and I'm a temp tech. I passed the 180 day mark mid this year, but a R&R SSG told me it doesn't count as its not permanent. I have a mix of soldiers saying they got it as temp tech over 180 and other that got shafted with less than 180 days as the units said they were "promised a permanent position" that some never got due to position funding being dropped after the fact or they were replaced. Guidance to regulations and links are very much appreciated!

You need to contact your state incentives manager to get the most accurate answer for you. The answer should be in your contract. I would recommend getting the official answer ASAP, if crossing the 180-Day window has terminated your bonus, the worst case scenario would be to receive the bonus, and then owe it back when the paperwork catches up. And one more time, I can't stress this enough, contact your state incentives manager in the G1.

No. As a temp you can keep your tricare reserve select but as a permanent mil-tech you'd have to switch to a federal insurance plan such as Blue cross blue shield or GEHA. There are more differences that's just one example.

The color of funding, state, fed, task force will often determine what will happen. If you need the job, focus on the interview and packet process not long-term options. Those dollars are indeed "temp" funds.
