I am a Company Sr. Medic in a SOF unit, I'm looking to conduct an NCOPD focusing on NCOERs for 68Ws in SOF. I would like to get the input, viewpoint, and experteise of senior AMEDD leadership who will be making promotion decisions for these medics based on what is in their NCOER. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

DA PAM 600-25 is somewhat outdated for 68Ws, what I'm looking for is the perspective from Sr. AMEDD NCOs who have been on the promotion boards for 68Ws. I'd like to know what they're looking for, what schools set NCOs apart from their peers, and how SOF 68Ws who are often pigeonholed into TOE units can best compensate for a lack of TDA time and highlight what they do on the NCOER to make themselves competitive with their peers who may have a greater diversity of assignments.

If you are looking for a general guideline for creating an NCOER for SOF W's you can always go back and start where we all trained. There is a surprising number of SOF medics at Ft. Sam Houston. It never hurts to call down and get a perspective from some of those instructors. If you're looking for some guidance on the actual PD you're putting together I'd recommend calling down to Ft. Bragg to the actual W-1 school house. All of the instructors there have time in SOF units and many were exactly where you are right now. They will be your best case of finding out what exactly you need and where you need to be going. A final good source that may or may not be available to you is going to your MSTC. On Lewis, Campbell, Bragg the MSTC is responsible for all units medical personnel. Go in there and talk to the NCOIC. He will have contacts in the SF unit at the post for you to link up with. You can get what you need from either some 18D's or the NCOIC of Group Support for guidance. If it is the latter he will most likely be a W-1 which is still in the SOF community, so both in this last case are beneficial for you. Hope this helps.

Thanks much for the reply - I've sent some RFIs back to some Sr. NCOs at AMEDD I've made contacts with over the years. The W1s at the JSOM are in a similar boat I'm in as I've worked with most of them. The MSTC NCOIC on Bragg is prior W1 with some great input. Thanks again for the input.
