Looking at 88L for a new MOS after my contract is up. I understand there is a brigade based in VA that has units in VA, MD, and NC. Is this the sole brigade (reserves) or does the National Guard also operate a unit?

Are you located in PA? Is that where you are looking for a position at? I can get you contact information to Reserve Career Counselor in that area to assist you in finding a position.

SFC (Join to see) - Called when I got off work later in the day. It stated it was a public affairs number and to not leave a message. I will attempt again when they open on monday, and update you if I get an answer

I'm an 88k. There are units in tacoma wa, tampa fl, morehead city nc, ft eustis va, baltimore md and 1 in Texas as well....there's several other supporting units as well but those are the main ones...not national guard as far as I know

Lol thanks for the info there. 88L has the allure since I sail alot, and want to learn engine repair, boat maintenence etc...88k does seem like the better gig though. I'd be looking at the Baltimore and Eustis units

I was active duty at ft Eustis several years back when it was 7th trans group. It didn't matter what unit you were in we were always deployed! Then went down to ft Stewart but not much going on there. I remember having to support some national guard and reserve units way back then but that was in the 90's and there has been many changes since then. If you really want to get your "feet wet" go active to ft Eustis and you will be on missions constantly!
