The only time I ever saw someone check socks was in USMC boot camp. A recruit had a medical chit to wear white cotton socks, but had to wear green wool socks over them.

My Sgt commented on mine in my first, but it was more like an FYI.
They were Dark Purple thick Cotton. He saw me with my boots off once. For PT though, it was white sox always.

Are Under Armor socks authorized to wear in uniform?

I'd say it really all depends on the uniform. But basically the color is all the matters. If there's any logos on it, those logos can't be visible.

PT uniform should have no logos. Wearing ACU or OCP I wouldn't worry because nobody can see them.

What matters most is whats shown while in uniform - full color and patterns. You didn't specify which uniforms but 670-1 will. Personally, I prefer black socks as they're multi-purpose - ACU/OCP, ASU, and personal wear. Polyester-cotton blend is better for the feet.

I would say Material, that is why we all branches can not wear Under Armor Shirts, because of flame resistance.

Depends. For wear with which uniform? Ultimately if they are the correct color, length, and the logo is not seen when worn, the. They can be worn.

Wear them under your regulation socks and there shouldn’t be a prob with that. I’m reading of guys and even women soldiers that wear the pants uniforms wear those suppression hose socks and they say it gives them more ‘staying power’ and can be on their feet longer ..
nobody can see them, when under their regular uniform socks ..
