Most people settle based on the human dynamic. When they find that comfortable medium that works for them allowing them to exist in a stable economy they stop pursuing the next level. The difference between those that settle and those that find a way to achieve their goal is the difference between success and failure.

CPT (Join to see) - I settled. Here's my dilemma: Three kids, one going to school next year. I willingly support my wife's vices (although I'm ultimately a benefactor). Now, don't get me wrong... I do enjoy my job. While it's not what I'd LOVE to do, my career supports my lifestyle and provides for my family. To that, I can keep on this gig... well, at least 'til my last one leaves the nest.

I have been very fortunate. I knew what I wanted to do for my dream job. I found a good job at a chemical plant while I worked on my degree. Five and a half years later, I completed my degree and started work on the Space Shuttle program. I loved my job for 33 years until the Space Shuttle program ended.

Completely agree! I have seen so many transitioning and separated vets say they looking for a job they think they are qualified and can do, instead of taking a strategic approach to figure out what they really want to do in their civilian careers.
I am FINALLY following my passion and living an inspired life!
