As I had no love for either candidate, I was a bit surprised at the outcome, a bit shocked, but overall pleased at how democracy works in our nation. For those upset, I say use your voice and vote in 4 years, but don't wait till then, start now preparing for it. For those happy and excited, its not over as it has just begun, now lets see how things go.
United we stand, Divided we fall- how would you like to see our nation over the next generation? I am for being united.

I couldn't agree more SGT Wallace. We all need to be united and lets see how this plays out. I am going to guess that it wont be nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I hope I am right. We are all still better off in our country than any other place in the world. If I am wrong about that, then we have the right to move to whatever other country you feel is better. Good luck finding that one!!! Sometimes us Americans forget how good we have it. There is no Utopia out there where every single person will be happy.

Well said. I agree with the "lack of love" for both Clinton and Trump. I am pleased that Americans, once again, showed the political elite that it is OUR vote that counts and enables their political power. Hopefully, this is a wake up call for the DNC and RNC. Maybe next time, they will offer up better candidates that we all can support and believe in.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr Hitler threw Communists in Camps, he himself was a Socialist (NAZI= National Socialist) one of the first things he did was universal healthcare (well at least universal if you were a desirable) Mussolini was a declared socialist, Atheist, and attempted mass agrarian and social reforms. they both considered themselves very progressive hence why the ends justified the means. The very term conservatism wants to keep the status quo, dictators simply do not fit the title as they require massive change (progress so called) to keep their authority. No idea who Framcp is but Francisco Franco was a declared conservatist who did nothing to conserve the monarchy and his actions represent no ties to conservatism movements. He was a right wing controlist not a right wing republican. (two very different ideals)
As far as other progressive dictators. They range from Julius Caesar, North Korea, Lenin, most dictators require the support of the populace in order to obtain their police state then once they have it oppress and attack any opposition. Conservatives simply do not attempt radical changes.

Not really, I think the silent majority is tired of the complacent ineffective politicians in the beltway and decided it was time for a wildcard to shake the tree of low hanging fruit..
