Seems to me a lot of people saw these guys coming. Others just willfully looked the other way.
I predicted much of this back in 2013.
I think the biggest surprise to many was that they swung for the fences and seized Mosul. Got to give them a bit of a tip of the cap, because that was a very bold stroke and a game-changer.
