55B's are now 89A's and 89B's. The MOS split into distinct specialties..

They are always looking for ways to consolidate or eliminate certain MOSs, so this is similar to what they did in the late 80s as well with MOSs that were being combined from the Vietnam era as well.

The CMF's change every so often. However, I don't know why.

SGT Hauschildt, all the changes they made in the past few years were to get all MOS and AOC's the same. Meaning that all Enlisted are now 11B and 11C and the Officers are 11A's make everything the same numbers

SFC Gannon,

Thanks for the info.

When I was a 35R it fell under the Signal Corps CMF back in the late '80. In the early '90's, 35R became 68R and was under the aviation maintenance CMF of 67 (I believe). Later, 68R went back as 35R, but it fell under the Ordnance Corps CMF (CMF 35). Ultimately 35R became 94R- under CMF 94, but still part of the Ordnance Corps.
