Does the PT test accurately test our physical state? Does the process PT test need to be updated to more relevant events and also if you pass the PT test and fail tape should you fail the entire test?

I don't know if the APFT is the best way of assessing our level of physical fitness, but is what we got until someone changes it; Passing the APFT in my opinion should not exempt you from passing tape, now if you qualify for the PT Badge I don't see why not

The APFT tests our physical state, but I do not believe that it is the best or only way.

Edit: Yes, the APFT does need to be updated to reflect what a Soldier will likely encounter in combat. No, if you fail the physical portion of the test or the Ht/Wt portion you should not fail both.

smsgt minister I agree but I think it needs to be changed to fit our current way we fight and train.
